Ivy Wilson left Humffray Street State School and as a 12 year old enrolled at the Ballarat School of Mines Technical Art School. She studied Art there from 1920 to 1922. Ivy Wilson later became a successful dressmaker and was able to make her own patterns.
Ivy's father was an orthopedic bootmaker. They lived at 17 Mair St. and his shop was an underground section.
