Historical information

White Flat was an early gold diggings. As early as 1856 the White Flat Drainage and Mining Co. constructed water races, drained the swampy land, and changed the course of the Yarrowee Creek. This may be remnants of that work. See http://bih.ballarat.edu.au/index.php/White_Flat_Drainage_and_Mining_Co.#cite_note-0
