Historical information

Coranderrk was founded after Kulin leaders petitioned the Victorian government for land following widespread dispossession caused by colonisation. The reserve became one of the most successful Aboriginal-run enterprises in Australia, producing wheat, hops, and crafts for Melbourne markets. 'Coranderrk Database' is a history of Coranderrk Station. It received a Victorian Community History Award in the Local History Project category in 2012.

Significance

Coranderrk is a significant symbol of First Nations' resistance, community strength, and the ongoing struggle for land rights in Australia
