Significance
These caps are not issued anymore and have been replaced by the slouch hat.
Physical description
Khaki Officer's Peak Cap, cloth material, leather band round the peak attached to the cap by two small round shaped gold in colour Australian Army cap buttons.
Inscriptions & markings
Internal cap band is leather and joined at the centre back by a silk white ribbon. Internal leather band is secured at the rear by a white silk bowed ribbon. The inside water proof insert is inscribed Dept of Supply and CGCF (Commonwealth Government Clothing Factory) with the Commonwealth Coat of Arms in the centre of the inscriptions. Size 7 and one half.
