Musical instruments were a source of entertainments for families and groups. This concertina would be easily carried from place to place and brought out without preparation.

Significance

This concertina is an example of the musical instruments used for casual entertainment in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is currently not associated with a historical event, person or place at this time and is being used to augment Flagstaff's village display.

Physical description

Concertina; musical instrument, wooden ends, grips and some key buttons missing. Bellows still produce sound. Concertina centre is coloured in green tones.
