One of a set of 153 Victoria Government Gazettes, ranging from 1853 to 1914. The set is almost complete, only missing two volumes; 1872. The set was owned by Warrnambool City Council, later transferred to Warrnambool Art Gallery, then to the Mechanics' Institute building at Flagstaff Hill.

The Victoria Government Gazette 1853 1 Vol 4. A large hard covered book with leather spine and patterned front cover. The spine has a black label with gold inscription.
