Significance

The spoon is significant for its connection with the 1878 wreck of the sailing ship Loch Ard, which is registered on the Victorian Historic Shipwreck register.

Physical description

Unrestored tablespoon from the wreck of the Loch Ard. The spoon design has a flattened fiddle-back handle, with a thin stem or shank, flared collar, and a shallow rounded bowl.
