The medal was won by Allan Bernaldo who studied Art at the Ballarat School of Mines Technical Art School.

The President of the Ballarat School of Mines in 1916 was William Henry Middleton.

Physical description

Gold (15ct) round medal with a shield shape in the centre, and a gold jump link on the top, housed in it's original blue box. It is the Ballarat School of Mine's President's Medal for most meritorious art student and was awarded to Allan Bernaldo.

The medal is housed in its original blue velvet box with the following stamped in gold in the inside lining "H.F. Hutton & Co. The jewellers. Ballarat."
