Bag has travelled at least twice between the Netherlands and Australia, possibly from Rotterdam.
Only one owner's name.
Based on the skillfully knotted ropes, it was probably owned by a sailor.

Constant travel between the Netherlands and Australia. The Waterman was a migrant ship form 1951 until 1963.

Physical description

Canvas bag, off-white, 8 eyelets around top threaded through with rope ends tied together with splice and monkey's fist knot, threaded through a looped pitch-treated rope. Loop tied into uneven figure eight.
