The Torquay Improvement Association was formed in 1889 to promote the development of Torquay. The book tells of exploits over the hundred years from 1889 to 1989.
Significance
The Torquay Improvement Association was behind many of the improvements that took place in Torquay in the period. The book is a record of these happenings.
