Significance

This fossil is an example of the geological history of the Orbost area.

Physical description

A rock with a piece of shark tooth embedded in it. It was found at Hofen's Bluff at Bete Bolong. It belongs to the Oligocene Miocene Age (20 million years ago). The tooth is from the upper jaw probably near the front from a white pointer shark about 6o metres long. Carcharodon Megalodon.
