Historical information

The War Memorial was constructed in 1925 on Merri Street at the South side of Liebig St. It was constructed to commemorate the soldiers of WW1. It is constructed of red granite and the Angel is carved in marble. Adjacent to it is the RSL clubrooms.

Significance

The Warrnambool War Memorial is a significant space commemorating a significant event and situated in one of the most prominent sites within the city. The image on this item would therefore be a typical memory which visitors would like to take from our city.
