Historical information

This guards van is part of a set of matching carriages. The 1CW refers to it being a class leader or the first of that type ever built.

Physical description

Guards Van 1CW, steel sides painted red with a white clerestory roof, contains two compartments with a controllers section at each end of the carriage. Each compartment is made up of 3 hinged shelves, a desk with a set of shelves and pigeon holes above the desk. The ceiling is decorative pressed metal with hooks attached in rows.
