Historical information
Presented to the school for the Weatherly Library in 1936 by Mrs H Symons. Mrs Symons identity is unconfirmed, possibly the wife of old collegian Henry Symons, who entered Ballarat College 1877, Son of H J Symons, butcher McArthur St, left Dec 1877, brother of Alfred, Parent of D Neil and H Mac. Henry served on Ballarat College Council 1909-48.
Significance
Example of ongoing community support of the school. The Weatherly Library was opened in 1936 and its collection significantly established by donation or bequest of old collegians and members of the college community and associates.
