The weatherboard former Golden Point Methodist Church was undergoing renovation in 2014. It was damaged by fire on 09 February 2014 while two owners were rennovating.
The foundation stone states:
"This Memorial Stone was laid to the Honour and Glory of God by Mrs M.A. Thomas 27th May 1897.
