Historical information

Else Oertel was a German internee in Camp 3A from 1940-1945. Woodworking was popular amongst the internees and Werner Dehnel, another internee in camp 3, made the trivet for Else. Her daughter, Else-Lore Hukins donated the item.

Physical description

Wooden trivet made by internee in camp 3, octagonal shape. Dark brown, polished. Bevelled border. Made from plywood. Plaque inlaid in back. Handmade.
