Historical information

The boys are from Fiume, Istria a Zara They were ethnically cleansed by the Yugoslavs between 1945 and 1950, and emigrated under the UN Sponsorship Plan IRD to Australia, arriving on the M.V. Castel Bianca on 27.12.1951. Held at Rushworth Migrant Centre, known as Camp Desperation 'fortimo".
