Historical information

The extension of the S.E.C. supply to country areas of Victoria took place following WW2. Most areas celebrated the occasion with a special 'switching on' function at the local hall. Mrs Downer was the wife of local Councillor John Downer.

Small wooden box with brass plaque on top and electric switch attached to the brass, commemorating switching on of district electricity supply.
