Historical information

Wedel is the oldest chocolate brand in Poland. It has been operating for over 160 years. Beginning with Karol Ernest Wedel, his son, Emil and followed by Jan Wedel the Wedel family waswell known for its social welfare policies. During WW11 Jan Wedel refused to collaborate with the the German government leading to persecution of his employees and his family. Although the company has been taken over several times by larger international groups, the Wedel name remains part of the product.

Physical description

A large tin container which held confectionery. The front of the tin has a black background , decorated with yellow,blue and red stars. In the centre is the Wedel logo, a signature on a yellow oval background.
