Dutton and Wiggs operated a brass and iron foundry known as the Warrnambool Brass and iron Foundry situated in Timor St. Mr Dutton was a mechanical engineer and Mr C Wiggs was an experienced foundry worker. They were innovative in their work and also manufactured a large number of everyday items such as verandah posts, brackets and milk aerators.

Significance

The significance lies in the fact that the items were manufactured in Warrnambool by a well- established local business.

Physical description

Two solid cast iron rods of cylindrical shape with one flattened edge with name imprinted. Hollowed out section on one end.

Inscriptions & markings

S. Wiggs W,bool. One has the number 7 and the other 5 cast into the metal.
