Historical information
R. F. Kennedy operated as a pharmacy in the late 19th and early 20th century in Timor Street Warrnambool. Mr Kennedy manufactured a large number of drugs and perfumes on a wholesale basis as well as very impressive retail business. Around the mid 1880’s they were shipping 5000 dozen bottles of Janos salts annually. Boracic acid was one such product which was commonly used product as an insecticide, herbicide and in cleaning products.
Significance
A common item which was manufactured by one of the largest manufacturing chemists of the area. R. F. Kennedy was a significant business in Warrnambool.
Physical description
Oval shaped tin with cream paper label overlaid with blue and white label. All labels are stained brown.
