The reason this was presented to the Shire of Ballarat is unknown.

Physical description

Rectangular Plaque with shaped bottom of brown wood,on which is a shield with the crown on top and on a white enamelled background divided into four by gold lines, are symbols of a tree, Australian flag, an Anchor and firemans helmet. Under this are leaves in gold in the form of a part wreath,and beneath this are the words COUNTRY FIRE AUTHORITY on a flowing ribbon.
