Sauce & coffee / chicory was stored in bottles bought at the local grocery store or at a large city store on a shopping expedition. The shape of the bottles changed as did the stopper used to seal it.

Physical description

Clear glass bottle used for storing sauce, coffee or chicory. The base is square with a slight indent inwards and has embossing. The straight sides go two thirds of the way up, taper quickly to the neck and then form a lip and opening for a cork stopper.
