Historical information

This medical / hospital instrument was used in the Tawonga District General Hospital which was built in the 1950's specifically for the increase in population due to the Kiewa Hydro Scheme.

Significance

Historical: Shows the development of scientific hospital equipment. Provenance: Used in the Tawonga District General Hospital which was remote and therefore required good equipment. Good condition and good interpretation capacity

Physical description

A clear plastic bag with 1. Stainless steel syringe (cylinder) with 2 rings at one end and a small opening at the other. 2. a 3 pronged instrument 2 prongs are handles that squeeze together - the third is curved and attached to one side of the handle. 3. golden coloured curved instrument in the shape of a hollow rectangle with thin attachments at each end.

Inscriptions & markings

The plastic bag has 'Broken' hand written in red at the top.
