Early settlers and market gardeners established their families in Moorabbin Shire and this item shows the skill and craftsmanship of the women of these families .The Marriott family were pioneer market gardeners from 1850 to 1960's in the Moorabbin Brighton area

Physical description

A lady's hand sewn fine cotton chemise with set in sleeves and concealed buttons along front bodice opening.The waist is elasticised and hand made lacework decorates the front and back with panels of pintucks
