- Puffing Billy 50th Anniversary Video footage : Australian Trains: Puffing Billy 50th Anniversary. 28th July 2012 Published on 31 Jul 2012 To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the re-opening of the first section of railway between Belgrave and Menzies Creek by the Puffing Billy Preservation Society on the 28th July 1962, the Society ran a special on the 28th July 2012. 14A stood in for 7A wearing the correct red and black livery and the modern style numberplates 7A wore in 1962 (the real 7A ran as 9A for the day). The consist used the same carriages that appeared on the 1962 train but not in the post office red livery. As part of the celebrations the Belgrave Workshops were opened to the public allowing an inspection of the restoration of Type-B Climax 1694. Also seen is loco 861 in steam at Belgrave and the Peckett at Menzies Creek
