Historical information

The Churchill Island collection includes objects from the late 1800s to 1900s. The collection is presented in sets and series, of which this name plate represents the Jenkins era.

Significance

Dr ​Harry Jenkins owned Churchill Island from 1936-1963 and served as dentist with the AEF and British forces in England and France 1917-1919, recorded in the history of the Royal Australian Army Dental Corps. The name plate was used by Harry Jenkins for his dentist practice, Collins St, Melbourne.
