Historical information

A group of twenty-two people seated and standing on the Cowes Jetty, which was built in 1870. Trolleys on iron rail were used to convey goods along the Jetty. Slightly obscured by people is the Jetty Shed, built in 1870 and now classified by National Trust. Beyond water and beach are trees and shrubs. One gap mid centre depicting The Isle of Wight Hotel - licensed in 1870 - and a large Norfolk Pine.
