Historical information

Horses were coupled together to form a team to pull farm machinery to work on farms. Later, petrol and kerosene equipment was used and then diesel.

Significance

The Kiewa Valley consisted of farming families before the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme was constructed in the late 1940's at the upper end of the valley.
