These are exercise books belong to the first pupil of the then Victorian Deaf and Dumb Institution.
Physical description
A slim soft covered exercise book with brown and blue marbelling on cover, blue binding over spine. Contains, handwritten in ink, by Lucy Lewis, the first pupil of the Victorian Deaf and Dumb Institution, exercises in arithmetic using £sd. Addition, subtraction, etc. Copied, probably from a board as there are no mistakes!

On inside cover in handwriting "S. Lucy A. Lewis / Feb 27 1865 / To June 1866".
