'H. S. Cope and Co., of Mori Mori, was badly injured by being kicked on the thigh by a young pony whilst he was endeavoring to catch his own for the purpose of driving to his home. He was unable to walk without assistance as a result of the kick, and it will be some time before he completely recovers from the effects.'
