The following new buildings were completed:
Physical Education Complex
Union Building (later named the Albert Coates Complex)
The Education building (T Building ) was nearing completion and would be the largest single building on the Mount Helen Campus.
A government grant and college funds, (the proceeds of the Ballarat School of Mines Centenary Appeal, were earmarked for the construction of the Art Building and Great Hall (later know as 1870 Founders Theatre)
