Historical information
6th Light Horse Regiment was raised in New South Wales in 1914 and served at Gallipoli, Sinai, Palestine and Syria. The regiment wore wallaby skin hat bands instead of cloth puggarees, hence the reference to furred hats.
Significance
A rare first edition of a regimental history. It was told and published immediately after the war so gives an authentic and unvarnished account of the experience of a relatively small group of young men from New South Wales during their four years at war.
