Historical information

The new testament is the second part of the Bible and records the teachings of Christ through the four gospels as well as the Acts of the Apostles and letters of St Paul as well as book of Revelations. It is commonly used as a book of inspiration and study within all Christian Churches. This particular copy was presented to James Cook in 1940 by the Hamilton Church of Christ Sunday School. The Cook family was also connected with the Warrnambool Church of Christ.

Significance

This item has only a tenuous connection to Warrnambool and its history but is retained because of its connection to the Cook family.
