Historical information

This badge commemorated the 100 years' anniversary of the Eureka Stockade in Ballarat. The siege of Eureka culminated in November and December 1854 arising as the result of disagreement between disaffected gold miners (led by Peter Lalor) and colonial forces about compulsory mining licences.
