Enamel candle holder with candle used for light prior to gas and electricity. The candles were held in a circular holder to catch the drips of candle wax. Attached finger holder for carrying.

Cardboard cylinder with 80-90 safety matches made in Japan. Pictures of four wildflowers in various coloures are spaced around the cylinder - Waratah, Sturt Pea, Kangaroo Paw, Wattle . The top of the cylinder is see-through plastic while the bottom has the striker.

WW2 era Austrian metal cigarette rolling machine "RAPID" circa 1940s. This machine is designed to roll tobacco into individual cigarettes using cigarette papers. This item is a white metal box which opens up and on the inside has a cloth rolling mechanism. A cardboard container with 50 gummed papers is also included.

A box of safety matches made by Bryant & May, Australia. The tray containing the matches slides inside the open-ended cover. The striking patch is on both sides of the cover. The red label shows a traffic light with the bottom light showing green. The box contains green-headed matches and appears to be complete.

Silver vesta case with trumpeted flower etched on one side and rose like flower on the other. Match striker on the bottom. Stylized CJS on refers to Charles James Stevens born Gibraltar 1/1/1892, died 2/3/1973, buried Geelong Eastern Cemetery. He married Edna Olive in 1966. Edna and her sister, Elsie Samuel, lived in Pickworth Avenue, Anglesea and were active in the Historical Society.
Etched with trumpeted and rose-like flowers and the letters "CJS". Hallmarks: cc, P, anchor, Lion (P=1889-1890). Arrow (anchor) - Birmingham.
