Historical information
During 1941-43 it was considered imminent that Japan's army may attempt to invade Australia. Anticipating Japanese air and submarine attacks, blackout restrictions were introduced and air raid warning instructions issued. This air-raid siren was installed on the roof of the G.P. Motors (originally Winchester & Rodwell Garage) during World War 2.
