doll's pram, first half 20th century

Significance

It was inevitable that once children began to play with dolls and to create their own accessories for these toys, opportunistic manufacturers would begin to market products
to cater for them. Toys made especially for little girls were designed to imitate the life and the society around them and to prepare them for their adult life as mothers.
In the 21st century toys are less recognisable as miniature playthings. This item reflects the type of toys likely to be used by young girls.
