Part of the school experience for the Form 1 boys at Ballarat Junior Technical School was the annual excursion or camp at Hepburn Springs. Overnight would either be at a guest house or the local hotel. One of the activities would be a morning swim in the Spring Creek at the Hepburn Mineral Reserve.
