"Bialik College has been an addition and has made a new contribution to the Jewish community" said Mr. M. Ashkanasy Q.C. guest speaker at the first "Speech Day" of Bialik College. In an address directed at the pupils (the oldest being first-graders) Mr. Ashkanasay explained how important it is that their school should be named after a poet; that they should also look to beauty to poetry and to the future. Through a poet's eyes they will see the true spirit of Judaism - the spirit of Bialik the great Hebrew poet. Established this year the college has a roll of 60 pupils and hopes to grow at the rate of a grade per year until it becomes a full primary school..."
