Significance
The Hotel was built in 1888 by William Follett and operated as the Torquay Coffee Palace until it was licenced in 1891 and then traded as the Palace Hotel. Significantly the hotel's first licensee was Anna Rosina Follet, one of a number of female licensees in Victoria at the turn of the century. The
