This bag could be used for carrying sheet music or similar documents. The item was owned by Gethla Forsyth who graduated as a nurse from the Alfred Hospital Melbourne in 1936. Gethla served in the Australian Nursing Corps in WW2. Gethla was a sister to Gladys who was married to Dr Angus , a long serving doctor in Warrnambool. her family had earlier connections to the district in the 1900's in the Koroit area.
Significance
A common object but an interesting social connection.
Physical description
Brown leather bag with metal catches and handle. It has a small gusset in each side. Long rectangular in shape.
Inscriptions & markings
"Gethla Forsyth" written inside on right hand side.
