Functional object - Sugar Bowl

Physical description

This is a small, antique metal sugar holder or sugar bowl, possibly of Victorian-era design. It has a rounded body supported by three spherical feet, giving it a slightly elevated stance. The rim is scalloped, creating a decorative wavy edge. A twisted, ornate handle is attached to the sides with curved brackets, allowing it to be carried easily. The surface is heavily patinated with verdigris (green oxidation), indicating that it is made of a copper or brass-based alloy.
Found in burnt remains of Tooan Hotel 1901.
