The damage to the antenna was caused during a contact by a crew member of the APC as he traversed the machine gun around firing as he went. A crew member of the APC Trooper George Cameron Wood souvenired this section of the antenna. George, No 3798253 served in Vietnam from 10.11.70 to 21.10.71 with A & B Sqds of 3 Cav Regt and 1st Forward delivery troop.
Physical description
Blackened or tarnished brass antenna base for an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) Base is hexagonal, upper sections have bullet damage that severed the antenna.
