Historical information
Edith Louisa Cavell 1865 - 1915 was a British Nurse working in German occupied Belgium during the early years of WW1. She saved lives on both sides but she also helped some 200 Allied POW’s and Civilians escape Belgium to Britain. She was arrested by the Germans and charged with Treason, found guilty by Court Martial and executed on 12.10.1915.
