T. Ready Gates erected by Roy Ready, son of T. Ready. The gates were removed in the late 1950s. After being missing for some years, the gates were located in the Council depot, refurbished by Ian Stones, and in 2017 were placed on display in the Museum.

Physical description

Black and White photo of Memorial Gates that were once the Murray Street entrance to the Rutherglen Park. The plaque on the gate dedicates them to the Pioneers of Rutherglen.

Inscriptions & markings

On back of photo: "Entrance to Park, behind Rutherglen Hotel"
On separate document: "This Plaque was attached to the Memorial Gates which were at the Murray St Entrance to the Rutherglen Park. The Gates were created in Memory of the Pioneers of the Rutherglen District. To Date it is not known when the Gates were erected buy they were removed in the early 1950s"
