Account of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition, (the 'race to the South Pole' 1957-58) where two field parties, headed by Dr. Vivian Fuchs and Sir Edmund Hillary, both reached the South Pole. G. L. Martin was photographer to the expedition.
