The plaque accompanying the stained glass window by Gerry Cummins was dedicated in 1981 to the men who gave their lives during the World War II period in the merchant and navy services.

Significance

The chapel originally designed as a Memorial to the Great War 1914-18 continues to be a place of commemoration for both merchant and naval services of WW2 and other conflicts.

Physical description

Small rectangular plaque made of steel mounted on wood. The plaque features helm representing Merchant seamen and an anchor with a crown on top representing the Navy. Both are gold plated.
