Historical information

Cann River is a town in the East Gippsland region of Victoria in Australia. The town is located on the Cann River at the junction of the Princess Highway and the Monaro Highway, in the Shire of East Gippsland.
Before 1929 the original Cann River settlement was where Noorinbee now stands.

Significance

Agricultural shows are an important part of cultural life in small country towns and these shows form an integral part of local history.
