- Jewish Museum of Australia - The Theresienstadt Collection This collection was donated to the Jewish Museum of Australia by Mrs Regina Schwarz, an internee at Theresienstadt during World War II. Her husband, Paul Schwarz, was responsible for sketching almost half of the 142 pictures contained in the collection. Paul lived and worked alongside fellow artist Leo Löwit in the internment camp in Theresienstadt. In October 1944, both men were transported to Auschwitz, where they were later exterminated. Regina remained in Theresienstadt until liberation in 1945. She rescued these drawings and carried them with her on journeys to both Britain and Australia. They were donated to the Museum in 1979.
